Looking for my brick wall...

My ggg grandfather was married to a “Mattie” Mclinton. I suspect that thereis possibly another name (McLendon). My ggg grandfather (William Henry Cohen) was born in (Appling, Coffee County.) As stated in his civil war pension records. He has several years of birth, (1838, 1842, 1846) however the standard date is January 12th. I found him in the 1860 Clinch County, Georgia census, with age of 14 yoa, living with a family by the name John Williams. His pension records state that he had been living in the state of Florida since 1868. The only problem with that is, that he and Mattie had 3 children (Ida, James Ephraim, and William Joseph), that were born in the state of Georgia (according to the 1910 census, listing state of births). Mattie died and was buried in Osteen, Florida. My grandmother states that she remembers that Mattie had a brother that she called “Need” and that he lived close to Mattie, possibly on the coast. I found my ggg grandfather living in Orange, County Florida in the 1900 census Married to Gartha. She was previously married to a Trowell. The Trowell’s were married on July 12, 1877. Listed in 1880, Wayne County Georgia Census They had a child Norris or Morris. I do not know what happened to Gartha's husband but she remarried my grandfather William Henry Cohen in Florida on March 8, 1884. Gartha’s son was listed on the 1900 census in Orange County, Florida as 21 yoa. I believe his middle initial is W possibly for William. My grandmother thinks that Morris or Norris was killed in an accident involving a boat or bridge in Florida?
If Mattie’s (McClinton, Mclendon) and children were born between the years of 1878-1882 in Georgia, and ggg Cohen remarried in 1884. Mattie must have died right after her children were born. But she must have been living in Florida since she was buried in Osteen? I do not have any family information on Mattie or her marriage to my ggg grandfather. Supposedly, William Henry killed somebody and moved to Florida to hideout (maybe had a name-change?). Is there anyone out there that can help me with these brick walls?
