Who was John Tanner's father?

There are quite a lot of us on the web looking for our grandfather. We are looking for anyone who has solid information on the father of John Tanner m. Mary Douglas before 1795, and eventually settled in what is now either Coffee or Bacon County sometime after 1800. Children included Wilson, Berry Hampton (Hamp), Lydia, Elijah, Robert Green, Elizabeth, maybe more.
My line is: BH (Hamp), BH (Bunk), Marshall, Baynard, Kenneth. Any help is MUCH appreciated!
