There is a listing for the Old Sandy Plains Cemetery in Sarah Gober Temple's The First Hundred Years, A Short History of Cobb County, in Georgia (orig. publ. 1935, reprinted 1997), page 809:
"Old Sandy Plains Cemetery. Proceed 1 mi. from turn off at Sandy Plains Road [see Blackwell]. Turn to right to residence of M. J. Gunnin; cemetery is on the hill back of house."
Who are you looking for? There were only 3 graves there as of 1935:
Cary C. Murdock
Jan. 10 1820 - Sept. 15, 1879
Mary Ann
Wife of C. C. Murdock
Aug. 27 1814 - Apr. 11 1863
Timothy Thomas
d. June 20, 1848, aged 44 years

Sandy Plains Road is in the northeastern section of Cobb County, and according to the Blackwell Family Cemetery directions referenced above, the turn off at Sandy Plains is approximately 2.5 mi. from the junction with Canton Road.

Hope this helps.
