I am looking for any information on my ggf Thomas J. Bryant b. 1 April 1834 d. 26 August 1877. In the 1860s and 1870s Federal Census he was in Draketown Ga. in Paulding/Haralson County, Ga. In the 1860 census he is listed as "collecting". In the 1870 census he is listed as a dry goods merchant. Thomas J. was also the Postmaster of Draketown from 1866 until 1866. He moved his family to what is now Austell Georgia near the corner of Factory Shoals and South Gordon Roads in the late 1860s. He passed away August 26, 1877. He is buried in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Cobb Co. He was married to Mary M. Allgood of Carroll County Georgia. Known children: Robert D. Bryant b. 15 January 1871 d. 23 January 1928, of Cobb Co. who married Amma E. Seay. Other children of Thomas J. were Thomas b. 1865, Martha b. 1867 and Samuel b. 1869. Thomas J. had an old maid sister named Amanda who lived with he and his family. I am trying to research the family of Thomas J. and Amanda. Any information will be greatly appreciated!
