Please help me find William Young Conine's parents. 1. The Census of 1830 indicates a William Conine lived in Jackson Co GA. The ages of children (James William b.1828, Margrater 1830, Martha 1833, John 1834, William Presley 1838, Mary 1841 and ROBERT A. CONINE abt.1845) match with WY Conine of Clayton Co in later census. 2. Philadelphia Presbyterian Church records indicate (this info also in Georgia archives). William Y. Conine “born Dec 1796, Died May 4, 1874 (page 65) Married Mary McMillian, in 1824. He united with Mendham Presbyterian Church in Jackson Co. ordained ruling elder March 1825. I have found no records of Mendham Pres Church or a community by than name, but have done very little research on this, have been told there are Presbyterian records at Montreat N.C. but not set up to be accessed. 3. 1840 Census Alabama has a Henry Conine. I have not looked into him but no Conines in Alabama in 1830, 1850, and 1860. 4. Samuel McMillian died Jackson Co GA 1811. Margaret McMillian was administrator. Could this be relation to Mary McMillian? 5. In 1792 Eleazer Conine given land grant of 3000 acres in Washington Co GA. I don’t know where this was; did location become a different county in later years? There is reference to page and deed book, which should still exist in Washington Co. GA. 6. There was a John C or G Conine who was in a different Clayton Co Company (in Civil War) from GA 30 Regt.James William Conine. This might be JW’s brother, also in same company was James Conine this must be a cousin who came from somewhere else since William Y Conine’s family only one in Clayton Co in 1860. 7. There is another letter in family I have heard about but not seen from JW to Nancy Catherine in Civil War, he talks about being on the coast near ocean. 8. Census of 1860 (Clayton Co GA) indicates Nancy Catherine Conine wife of James William Conine was born in South Carolina. Also William Y and Mary McMillian born in GA 9. Census of 1850 (Fayette Co GA) indicates Mary Conine, wife of William Y Conine, born in North Carolina. 10. Census of 1850 (Campbell Co GA) There is a Nancy Conine born abt 1775 living with David & Sara (Conine) HUIE. Could Nancy be mother or grandmother or aunt of Sarah and could Sarah be William Y Conine’s relative. 11. Census of 1830 (Jackson Co GA) shows a William Conine who should be William Y Conine. One of his neighbors was Nancy Conine who is near the age of above Nancy Conine and had 2 young females living with her, one who would match Sara Huie’s age. 12. Census of 1820 (Jackson Co GA) shows a Henry Conine with a female who would match Nancy Conine’s age and a male who would match William Y Conine’s age. 13. If Nancy Conine is same from 1820 – 1860 then she lied about her age in 1830 or census taker misheard her. 14. Census of 1830 (Putnam Co GA) There is a Richard Conine. He died in 1838 and had a bunch of kids & slaves. I don’t think his descendants are related to us, but he may have been a brother, cousin, etc. to Henry. Children are listed by name in will and contain similar names to later Conines we know, Henry, Martha, Robert, and William. Please email me if anyone finds a connection to our GEORGIA CONINES.
