Samuel M. Glenn

From an early newspaper obit, I learned that Samuel Musgrove Glenn was born in Laurens County, S.C., received a classical education in Abbeville District, S.C., moved to Ft. Gaines in the spring of 1840 and lived there for 18 months before he died from an accident in 1841. The obit also stated that "Should this notice meet the eye of his aged mother (his father, we understand, having for many years been dead)...though he had no mother, brother, sister, or other relative to weep over his grave..." It also stated that he was in communion with the Methodist Church.

I strongly suspect that Samuel M. Glenn was a school teacher. Does anyone have any information about this man, possible probate record reference (for me to obtain), or some church or burial record which would allow me to identify his parents?
