I am still seeking information on my GGGGgm Mrs Mary "Polly" Wood (1801-1891) of Clarke/Oconee Co GA.
Who was her husband?
What was her maiden name?
Below I have included info I have gathered on several Wood families who lived in Clarke/Oconee Co Ga in the 1800's. I suspect that they were all related somehow.

MRS MARY "POLLY" WOOD (1801-1891)
Mr _____ Wood was born 17__ and died pre-1842. He married Mary "Polly" _____ (b.ca.1801GA-d.Apr 1891 Oconee Co GA). Mrs Mary "Polly" Wood is listed in the 1850-1870 Clarke Co GA census and the 1880 Oconee Co GA census. In Apr 1891, R F Wood was appointed administrator of his grandmother Polly Wood's estate.
Through the 1880's up til Apr 1891 Polly and her daughter Fannie Wood Kines were listed on the list of paupers that Oconee County gave money to. In May 1891, there was a record that $5 had been spent for "buryal expenses" for Polly Wood-pauper.
In 1850, Benjamin McRee (age 83) of Clarke Co GA gave to Polly Wood "for natural love and affection"-six acres of land in the Wildcat District of Clarke (now Oconee) Co GA. Benjamin McRee's will and estate records do not mention Polly Wood so I do not know what her relationship was to him.

3.William Wood (b.13 Jun 1825-d.27 Aug 1905) md 25 Feb 1847 Clarke Co GA to Mary E Loving (b.13 Mar 1827-d.16 May 1914). Census: 1850,1900 Clarke Co GA; 1860 Newton Co GA;1870 Oglethorpe Co GA; 1880 Gwinnett Co GA. In 1889, Mary "Polly" Wood and Frances Kines mortgaged their 6 acres in Oconee Co to William Wood-he was to build them a house on their property for $50-to be paid at the death of Mary "Polly" Wood. In 1914, William's widow Mary Loving-Wood and her son William M Wood sold the six acres in the Wildcat District of Oconee Co GA known as the "Polly Wood tract" to C R Ward.

In the 1900 census, Mary Loving Wood stated that she had given birth to 5 children; 3 living (which indicates that Susan has died).

ANN (WOOD?) LOYD (b.1810/12-d.1885)
In 1870, Ann Loyd-age 60 (b.1810) was living with Polly Wood (71) and Frances Kines in Clarke Co GA. In 1880, Ann Loyd-age 68 (b.1812) was living next door to Polly Wood (79) and Frances Kines. Ann Loyd was listed on the list of paupers in Oconee Co GA in the early 1880's; on Oct 6 1885, J H McRee was paid $5 for a coffin for Ann Loyd-pauper.
Clarke Co Ga marriages show that Lewellyn Lloyd married Ann Wood in 1837. He is listed in the 1840 Oglethorpe Co GA census.
Is this the same Ann Loyd. What is her relationship to Mrs Polly Wood. She is too old to be Polly's daughter.

John Wood (1809-1883)
John Wood was born in 1809 in GA, and died Bet. February - March 1883 in Oconee Co GA. He married (1) Martha Brightwell 02 June 1831 in Clarke Co GA, daughter of Samuel Brightwell and Frances Berry. She was born Bet. 1810 - 1815 in Oglethorpe Co GA, and died Bet. 1840 - 1850 in Clarke Co GA. He married (2) Fanny Kelley 1839 in Clarke Co GA. She was born abt 1812 GA, and died Aft. 1884 in Oconee Co GA.
Notes for John Wood:
John & Fanny Wood were listed on the list of paupers in Oconee Co GA in May 1882; records (Mar 6 1883) show that Nathan T Elder was paid for making a coffin for John Wood. Fanny was still on the pauper list in Jan 1884.

It is known that William B Wood (1780-185?) had a son named William B Wood Jr. I believe that William Wood (b.1815) who married Matilda Kines is Wm B's son, BUT it is possible that THIS William is Wm B's son instead.
Is this the same Woodson Wood who is listed in 1860 Warren Co GA & 1870 Richmond Co GA?
