I have the will of William strong Jr. of clarke Co. ga. made in 1810. In the will he mentions his wife Peggy and 8 children. 6 sons and 2 dau. Sons William J.,Elijah, Monford, George Jackson, John, James Marion. Daughters Sarah Cocke and Harriet. Grandson William cocke. He left $4,500 to each of these children. It looks like he was a very wealthy man as he loaned money to lots of people and they are named also. He also owned many slaves and they are noted on his inventory. acturaly the papers I have span the years 1810 to 1833 when his estate was settled. Looks like he owned many acres of land and later part of this land was given to each son as part of the money he left in his will. a very interesting document that as I said lists many early names of Clarke co ga.
