You may be right about the business; I will check out genweb site and information I have. William Murray settled in Clarke County about 1830 from England. He appeared to be a prosperous merchant with a store in Watkinsville. His family was on the 1850 census and lived in the Watkinsville District most of their lives. The last Murray of this line in Watkinsville died at the age of 93 abt 1956 when her property was sold; her house she built remains in downtown Watkinsville as a lawyer's office. Although there was only one Murray family in 1850, on the same 1850 census were several families of Ganns. Will let you know if I find anything.
