Researching Phillip Allin (Allen) Revolutionary Soldier who drew a pension under the pension act of 1832.(S31514) He applied as a resident of Clarke County, Georgia. He claimed to be about 73 years old and that he first enlisted in 1776 in Mechlenburg County, Virginia. Later re-enlisted and fought with Gen. Greene in South Carolina. He would have been about 16 years old at his first enlistment. Born in King and Queen County, Virginia. Died before 1840 probably Clarke County, Georgia. His character witness was Parmenus (sp?) Haynes who is seen in early records of Oglethorpe and Greene County, Georgia. Was Haynes a friend or a relative from King and Queen County, Virginia?
Phillip Allen married 1819 Clarke County, Georgia to Sarah Robinson b.c. 1790 Georgia d. after 1850 probable in Clarke County, Georgia. This was probably not his first marriage. Frances Mary Ann Allen m. James Crow in Clarke County, Georgia. They are living next door to Sarah Allen in the 1850 census of Clarke County, Georgia. Need parents of Phillip Allen and the names of any of his other probably wives and probably children.
Any suggestions for further research appreciated.
