Can anyone tell me about a John Cary who owned a store or hotel in Athens about 1810? He may be the father of Martha Leland Cary who married in Athens GA 19 Jun 1810 Thomas Gresham Lamar of Edgefield District SC. Martha Cary Lamar was born in VA 16 Sep 1781 and died 14 Jan 1861.
He may also be the father of William H. Cary, born 26 Jun 1797, died 17 Apr 1836 and Mary Eliza Cary Redfield Lipscomb, born 23 Nov 1803, died 30 Oct 1847.
