Old Damascus cemetery records list the following Stancil family memebers.
Andrew J. Stancil b 1843 d. 1862
Carder B. Stancil b 1810 d. 1885
Emeline Stancil b. Oct 4, 1842 D. July 5, 1891
Lydia Nix Stancil b. 1810 d. 1914
Malinda Ann Stancil b. 1841 d. 1923
Thomas J. Stancil b. 1839 d. 1911
Stancil family in Bethany Baptist Church, located in the same area are:
Carter Lee Stancil s/o F.K. b. May 19, 1909 d. May 17, 1911
George T. Stancil b. 1877 d. 1958
Jodia H. Stancil b. 1887 d. 1967
I had the cemetery records with this info. I don't really think I'm connected to this family. I just happened to see you message and thought I could help a little.
You may want to search Pickens co, Ga records along with Cherokee co. My family, The Carney's came from Cherokee and I find alot of info listed as Pickens Co., Tate, Ga or Cherokee Co., I have relatives in both of the above cemeteries. I also know that their are some Nix's in the Antioch Cemetery in Marietta GA on Roswell rd. I don't know if they would be related or not. (below, I have pictures of below stones If you are related and interested in them)
