Lucinda Cockran's Orphans of Cherokee County, Georgia, were fortunate drawers in the 1832 Land Lottery. Other records show that Lucinda was the widow of John Cochran/Cockran, and that the "orphans" who drew this land were Elizabeth (born ca 1825) who married Richard Lard and was living in Hardin County, Tennessee, in 1850, 1851, and 1853; Sarah who married John Palmer (also seen as Palmore) and also lived in Hardin County in the years mentioned above; and Eliza who married Burns Langford or Lumford, etc.
Can anyone identify Lucinda and John Cochran? Was Lucinda's maiden name GAMMIL ( or variant thereof)? Did she remarry to Ransom P. Boswell and move with him to Burleson County, Texas?
Thanks for any help.
