Yes, Rachel is daughter of James Hogan & Elizabeth Gipson/Gibson. I have her being born 1817. Wes has her 1820.
I also found something else about this connection from some military records.
J.C. Hogan - Private, Co. F, 28th Regiment- Inf.
William T Gibson - Co. F, 28th Regiment-Inf.
Thomas Hogan - Private, Co. A, Cherokee Legion - Cavalry
Lorenzo D. Wooten - Private Co. A Cherokee Legion-Infantry
I believe J.C. Hogan to be John Chappell Hogan, s/o James & Elizabeth.
I am leaning towards William T. Gibson as being a nephew of James & Elizabeth & Cousin to J.C. Hogan. Maybe brother to Daniel Steven Gibson that married Susan Armenia Hogan(d/o William Hogan & Susannah Wooten)
Thomas Hogan is brother to John Chappell.
Lorenzo D. Wooten could be just about anything. Brother,nephew, or cousin to Susannah Wooten.
Which line is yours? Do you have any information that might help? I hope I haven't totally confused you with these possible, but unproven, relationships. Any help will be appreciated.
