Hi, Cross Roads was a district. I have a copy of an old map. Cherokee County Georgia had a part cut out to form Milton County for a time after the Civil War. It is in Milton County Records that you may find some clues that will help. I know I had several ancestors disappear from Cherokee County and never found them till I found out about the formation of Milton County (which is now defunct). Anyway, CrossRoads District was on the Cherokee County/Forsyth County line
In that Cross Roads district was a little community called Ophir, one called Free Home, and also the Creighton Gold Mine. I can't remember all the districts names, but one was called Lick Skillet, one was Woodstock, and one was Cross Roads. Best of Luck to you in your research.
