This is my first-ever posting anywhere, Ms Heard, a renewed hope of finally finding some individual identity for a GrGrandmother known to me by a first name only and that appears variously as Mahaleh (1850 Fed Census- Cherokee Co. Ga.), Mahala and Mahailey. I believe King James has it as Mahalah. She was wife to my 2nd Great Grandfather Frederick William Dunn. She was supposedly a native Cherokee but I realize other tribes were present at the time of her birth in 1822. She died sometime after 1900. They were married in Cherokee County in 1840 - at least that's the date I have. Try as I might I have not been able to access any marriage record.

Frederick William Dunn, cabinetmaker/master mechanic (b.1816 in ...Georgia; d. 1870 St Clair, Alabama)
Resided with wife Mahaleh in Division 15, Cherokee Co. 1n 1850. The area may have become Paulding after 1832. Paulding is where one of their sons John Newton Dunn was born 27 Mar 1842.

Any help from any direction would, of course, be very appreciated. - Sam
