Hi Susan,

so glad to meet another cuz. I have never found
any relatives at all in Cherokee Co. After reading your
info I've spent about 7 or 8 hours studying that county
but have not found anything at all. I have never been able
to find Thomas, Nancy or Mathew. I lost John after 1880
in Murray Co. I did see a John in Cherokee about the
right age and it said he had been married twice. So maybe
that's a clue.
Marcus and Mary's daughter Margaret is my
g-gdmother.
Margaret's daughter Mary Jane Moore Wyatt
is my gdmother.
She said many times that her gdmother was a
Bennett and married a Bennett.
I asked her if they were related and she
said no.
Marcus always says that he is from N C.
Mary always says she is from S C.
You are the 3rd person in the last 3 or 4 mo's
I have been in contact with about
Marcus & Mary Bennett after 9 years of
searching. So the pieces
are beginning to fall in place, I believe.

I do not know where Marcus & Mary are buried. I
believe they and my g-gdfather Isaac T Moore,
he died late 1880's, are buried in Murray Co but
that's a guess. My g-gdmother Margaret was still
in Murray Co for 1900 census.

It does appear as if Roland died in
hospital at Augusta of measles.
I believe he married Nancy Coward/Cowart.
I think it was in Whitfield Co Ga.
