John Bennett, Cherokee County GA

Family lore has it that my ggg grandfather (I have no name)owned a farm with a big spring on it in Cherokee Co GA near where the airport is now located. He supposedly left it to his 3 sons, Matthew, John and Nute/Newt. Matthew was married to Elizebeth (Betty) ?. Matthew died while working in the field in 1873 leaving Betty to raise their 2 year old son, Marcus. It is said that John married and had a large family and lived on his acreage. Nute/Newt never married, but was still on his farm around 1919. As I said, this is family lore and I have been unable to prove any of it. Do you have any info on this family? If John did have a large family, surely some of his family is still in this area. Thanks so much for your help.
