Susanna "Susan" Wood, 1860 Cherokee Co, GA Census
Posted by: Nell Nicholson (ID *****4879) Date: February 10, 2010 at 11:58:18

Susan Wood, born abt 1847 SC or NC was in the 1860 Census of Cherokee Co, GA, Shake Rag District, Sharp Jab Post Office, with her Mother, Elizabeth Green Wood, widow of Randolph Wood, brothers, Zachariah Wood, Richard Wood, George W Wood. Susan was 13 years old in 1860. Susan Wood seems to have disappeared after 1860. I have searched through marriage records for surrounding counties. She must have married before 1870 and moved out of the area. Her brother Richard Wood came to Marion Co, AL about 1869 and was married to Julia Frances Weatherly by 1870. Susan's oldest sister, Jane Wood, b 1833 NC, married Jesse Green Wood, b 1833 GA and living in Marion Co, AL in 1860. Susan's oldest brother, Henry Wood b 1830 NC, married Malicia Wood and lived in Wilks Co, NC. Zachariah Wood was killed in the Civil War and little has been found about George Wood.
I have extensive family files on the Randolph Wood b 1805 Rutherford Co, NC (Jane Wood's father), family and the William Wood (Jesse Green Wood's father, Cherokee Co, GA) family. Happy to share.
Is there anyone who knows any information about Susan Wood? I would like to have some biographical info on her and her descendants.
