Don't know if I can help much, but here goes. The Crossroads District found on the Cherokee County 1860&1870 census, is loosly definened by the following: On the east side bounded by Forsyth County, to the south, just south of State Highwat 20; to the west around Orange and to the north by the Etowah River. It was named for the major intersection of the road running from Ball Ground to Freehome and the east-west road to Hightower in Forsyth County. I do not find a crossroads church in that area.
If I can help more, let me know. I have a lot of ancestors from that area.
