According to his daughter's birth certificate, Karl Hefley was born in Savannah, Chatham Co., GA ca. 1919. He was a flight instructor in the U.S. Army. He was killed in January of 1944 in Lima, Peru while piloting a Pan American Grace Airliner. He ran into the side of a mountain.
Searching for his parents. In Georgia,I can't request a birth certificate without the name of his parents!
Would anyone know how I can access records of obituaries or news reports of military deaths in 1944?
ANY help appreciated.
