O'Gorman's in Savannah

my g-g-grandfather came to Savannah,Ga. Chatham County from Ireland sometime in the 1870's to 1880's...his name was John O'Gorman. Supposedly he was a president or vice president of a major bank in the community.
Any info on the O'Gorman's or how to get birth/marriage/death certs from Savannah would be helpful. Maria jomar@javanet.com
