Thank You! I am interested in the BAYLESSes of Catoosa and Walker Co.s. My ancestor John Porter BAYLESS is believed to have lived near Catoosa Springs and/or Chicamauga. He is in the 1850 & 1860 censuses for Catoosa & after that in Walker Co. After the Civil War, he moved to Walker Co. and finally in 1890 to TX. He had several children, sibs, nephews and nieces in Catoosa and Walker Co.

John's son John Milton BAYLESS told his grandchildren about the Battle of Chicamauga. I have a copy of John Porter BAYLESS' denied Civil War claim. If you are interested in these items, I will gladly send the data for your records.

I am especially interested in the location of the BAYLESS ESTATE as described in "The Official History of Catoosa Co.". This house was (is?) located near Catoosa Springs and probably belonged to John or one of his brothers.

Thank You!
Barbara Ribling
