Josiah Birk Family of Catoosa/Walker County, GA

I'm looking for any more information I can get beyond what I have found in the 1850 Census on Josiah Birk & his family. I am trying to find out if he ever went by John Birk/Burk. I would also like to know more about his daughter Catherine, is her name Catherine Melvina? Anything that might help lead to answers for these questions and give insight into this family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.-Lisa

This is what it lists:
Josiah Birk 45M Blacksmith Born: VA
Wife Nancy 44F Born: NC
Son John F 16M Born: GA
Dau Catherine 14F Born: GA
Dau Emily 11F Born: GA
Son Wm C 8M Born: GA
Dau Mary A 6F Born: GA

They lived between Jepy Davis & John Mapey in the 1850 Census. I not sure if this Catherine is my Catherine that married Samuel Milton Robertson but I feel that it is. There is not a lot known about her but that she married Samuel in Walker County, Georgia and had children in Lookout Gap, Walker/Catoosa County, Georgia. I have a (marriage) photo that fits the age of the above mentioned as well as we know from census records the age is close. Again I'd love any help I can get.

Is there a Genealogical Society for that area that might be able to help?
