Do you have any prison records in your genealogy department? My great-great grandfather was George W. Turner (b. 1819/20, TN; d. 1873/80, Catoosa Co., GA). He is listed on the 1860 Catoosa Co. census as a "convict". I would like to find more info on this. In 1850 he and his family were in Hamilton Co., TN. It seems that they must have moved to Catoosa Co. 1857/58. His wife was Elizabeth Alexander (b. 2/27/1827, TN; d. 2/6/1885, Catoosa Co., GA). Their children were all about two years apart except for one span of 4-5 years, 1860-65. I have not been able to find any ancestral info on George or Elizabeth. He is not listed as a convict on the 1870 Catoosa Co. census and by the 1880 Catoosa Co. census, Elizabeth is the head of the household shown to be a "widow".
Thank you for your time,
Terrie Russell
