Annie Ruth Helton, 80, of Carrollton, died Aug. 24, 2007.

Memorial services will be conducted Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.

The family will receive friends Aug. 27 from 5 p.m. until the service hour.

Times-Georgian (Carrollton, GA) - Saturday, August 25, 2007

Annie Ruth McEwen Helton, 80, of Beulah Church Road, Carrollton, died Aug. 24.

She was born Nov. 11, 1926, in Carroll County to the late George Harrison McEwen and Annie Shell McEwen. She ran a winder machine for Carroll Mills for more than 50 years and was a member of Abilene Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Brenda Ruth Walker, Raiford Donald Helton Jr. and Jeese Cranton Ellison.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Eldridge; son, Jeffery Lee Helton, both of Carrollton; sister, Betty Street; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Barbara McEwen, all of Carrollton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Gregory Drake and Rev. Keith Jiles officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Dot Kesling, Cathy Nordholme, Charlie Cash, Keith Threadgill and Gary Threadgill. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Aug. 27 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Those who wish to make memorial contributions may donate to the American Heart Association or to your favorite charity.
