Al, I was hopeful you were still there and I thank you so much for this info. You had helped me sort out something once before and it's great you are still helping people.
I am still trying to find more on my Morgan family who lived in Richmond Co., GA from abt. 1805-1835. A recent Y-dna match has me looking again.
The find where one William Morgan paid taxes for Eliz. Jane Morgan gives me hope I can find more on these two people and how they may be connected to my Morgans. There is an 1830 bond in RCG where one William Morgan was suing George Cook for hitting him on the head -- the other Morgan was my Eldridge Morgan (also proven by dna) So, there was a William Morgan in RCG at the time my Morgans were there and I think he was closely related to them. There is another record where one Ms. Johnson was put in jail for bothering "Jane Morgan" -----
This is why I am trying to find any other record which may give me more names, etc. The tax record just shows 3 / 13 Carroll Co., GA --- it may show the acreage -- I would have to look again but I am really curious as to how or why this Jane Morgan had to pay tax on this land.
I really appreciate all the good info. It helps me know where to look next.
