You have given me some great information. I really appreciate you taking the time to look this information up. You are a great help for researching Carroll county.

If I may, I have one more question. Would it be possible for someone to have acquired land via the land lottery or purchase of the "Fortunate Drawers" land grant, and not show up on the tax rolls if they do not vote? For instance if John Barber acquired land in Carroll Co. in that manner, does he automatically show up on a tax roll? If that is possible, he could then sell it later and that deed not be recorded by the buyer and there would be no trail. Just wondering.
