Thank you for your reply and information. His pension application listed 26th Ga. Inf. and that he was born in Carroll County, GA. On the 1860 Carroll County Census is S. S. C.(Stukeley) Parker with a son William H. H. Parker who is the right age. Searching online for Military Records Carroll County Georgia I found this record.
Parker, W. H.-Enlisted as a private in Co. D, 3d Regiment
Ga. State Troops October 13, 1861. Mustered out at
Savannah, Ga. April 20, 1862. Enlisted as a private in
Co. B, 56th Regiment Ga. Inf. May 5,1862.
As he was the only William H. Parker in this time frame I assume it was him. I don't know how he got from the 56th Regiment to the 26th. I was hoping that a service card would tell of the units he was in.
