I found a post by a Donna Johnson stating that in "The Pickens County Georgia Heritage Book" Jacob Gipson is a deacon in 1839 at the Talking Rock Baptist Church. Also that the Town Creek Baptist Church was founded on 2 acres of land donated by Jacob Gipson and William Allen Erwin. I guess that tells us that they were Baptist. Is that close enough to be the 1850 Campbell County District 10? Jacob Gipson's wife Edy is Jacob Mayfield's daughter. I'm sure it says District 10, here are the citations for Jacob.
