Douglas, Belford Luck figured prominently in the affairs of Campbell County, and was at one time a Justice of the Peace (ca. 1850), and treasurer of the Campbell County School Board (1864). He was a member of Enon Baptist Church, and seved as an appraiser of James Mason's estate following the latter's death in 1863. He also served as an appraiser of James' eldest son's estate in 1894 (John Wilburn Mason)... Purchased property at the estate sales, etc. My notes show that he married James' oldest daughter (Frances Matilda) to William N. Cook on 17 Jan 1850, which paces his service as a JP. Frances Matilda's daughter Martha P. Cook married Thomas J. Luck, with the following issue: Wm B. Luck Nana Luck Francis L. Luck, m. George Hemperly James Miles Luck (Sr.) m Etta Lee Drake Francis Hemperly was the mother of Marion Hemperly. Etta Lee Luck's son was James Miles Luck, Jr. Martha P. Luck's uncle was James Miles Mason, who was minister of Enon in the mid-1890's. The Luck family descendency was done by Marion Hemperly, and is dated May 1967. What is your tie to the Luck family? Which Masons? Hope this is of some use. Walter Mason (grandson of James Miles Mason) Notify Administrator about this message?
