Burke County, Georgia Sapps.
I’ve entered a brick wall with Batt Sapp in my family tree.
Does anyone have documents on the death dates or information of Batt J. Sapp and Laura Love Perkins Sapp. Supposedly buried in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Alexander, Georgia. I don’t have any other info on Batt and Laura other than their marriage records. I cant find obits, land records, war records, etc. on either one of them.
Does Batt stand for something else? The name Batt Sapp is used in all the census accept the 1880 census and his name is written as Bob Sapp, age 24. I know this is him because he is living with wife Laura and they are living beside her parents. Some family trees list “Batt Sapp” as “Joseph Abram Batt Sapp” and that is incorrect as far as I know.
Batt J. Sapp is my Great Great Grandfather. He was born abt. June 1856 and was the son of Dennis Dill Sapp and Mary Cavannah Sapp. He married Laura Love Perkins born abt. May 1858 (daughter of David Perkins and Sarah Ann Sapp Perkins). I have Batt in the 1920 census, married age 53. I do not see him after that. 1930 census Laura is living with her son Lonnie and she is widowed.
