I have found additional information which changes some of the information given in the previous post.

<<Mary "Tasey" Sorter Clark>>
On Indian Funds applications, two of James and Tacy's children and two of their grandchildren listed the name of Tacy's parents as George and Tempie Brewer. The name on her tombstone is Tacy Clark. I have not found any documentation for the name Mary or the surname Sorter, except from some information, second or third handed, from a family member. Perhaps a different great-grandmother of that person was named Mary Sorter.

<<I have been told that James and Mary "Tasey" Sorter Clark had a son named Henry.>>
I have found that James and Tacy did not have a son named Henry. But I did find that James had a brother named Henry.

<<I haven't found her on the Bartow Co., GA 1870 census.>>
She is found on the Roane Co TN 1870 census with Henry Clark. Her Yancy children are listed with them, as well as their Clark sons, William, Patrick W, and Henry Edward. Since the father of the Henry Clark, brother of James, was Patrick and James had a son named William, and there is an Edward, who MAY BE another brother of Henry and James, the Henry Clark who married Malissa Frances Freeman Yancy, MAY BE the same Henry. Henry the brother of James was the right age to be Malissa's 2nd husband, married in 1865 and on the 1870 census. He hasn't been found anywhere else on a census in 1870, and some other family members moved to Roane Co., TN about the same time. I need more information about this Henry, 2nd husband of Malissa, and Henry, the brother of James, to be sure that they are the same Henry.

Any help on these Henry Clarks will be appreciated very much.
