Hawkins F. Price was the son of Ervin Price (1779-1843) who was born in Johnston County, NC according to his tombstone and died in Talking Rock, Pickens County, GA. He is buried in a cemetery off Highway 5 in Talking Rock. Ervin Price is listed in early Johnston County, NC records and lived in Burke County, NC and Rabun County, GA before moving to the area that became Pickens County, GA. Hawkins F. Price is buried in Bartow County, GA. His brother John Ervin Price was born 1805 in Johnston County, NC and died 1875 in Jasper, Pickens County, GA. Both Hawkins F. Price (born 1818 in NC) and his brother John E. Price served in the Georgia Legislature. Siblings of John E. Price and Hawkins F. Price may have been Thomas Price (1810), Nancy Price (1813), William Price (1821), Elizabeth Price (1825), and Samuel Price (1828) all listed in the 1850 Gilmer County, GA Census. In 1860 these siblings were living in Pickens County, GA. John A. Price, the son of John E. Price, is buried in Adairsville, GA. Hawkins F. Price had a son named Clarence Price.
