James, at the time your folks made their claims there was probably no courthouse yet at Holmesville, the 1st county seat of Appling County. Cambden was one of the original Georgia Counties and probably a lot of the first settelers to go into the new county of Appling were from Cambden. Very likely your foks were living on Indian land long before it was legal to as was often the case.
