I am researching the court records of Northampton County North Carolina and have seen information about several John Futrells who lived in the county in the early 1800's. I have a copy of a John Futrell's January 1834 will, in which he names the following children: Susanna, Willie (married Elizabeth Monger), John, Mary Lambertson, Lemuel, Elijah, and Salley Joyner; and step daughters, Elizabeth Sumner and Anna Revelle; and granddaughters, Susan and Lavinia (actually Martha Lavinia) who were daughters of son, Willie. Executors: Thomas Joyner Jr. and Willie Futrell. Witnesses: William H. Joyner, Giles W. Joyner, and Tabitha Whitfield. Elizabeth Monger Futrell married Exum Vann sometime after Willie Futrell died in 1837.
