Hello Joyce,
Did you know that Mary Wilkinson had a hard time making up her mind WHOM to marry? The records for John and Mary are part of the "Friends" (Quakers) meetings records kept at Carlisle Castle, Cumbria, England. I spent some time looking at the original documents at the castle. I will be going back in the next year or two and will continue looking over the records. I know that Mary declared her intention to marry three times, two of those times to people other than John! It is possible there was more than one Mary Wilkinson, I will know more when I return to Carlisle Castle, but in a small community and an even smaller "Friends" group, it does make you wonder. "Will she, won't she" etc.
