Listers:

I am trying to solve a family mystery.

The Rhode Island FURLONGs settled in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island. They are buried in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. They seem to be related to the LOUGHLIN and DONAHUE familes who are buried in the same cemetery. Nobody seems to know who these people were except they are buried in the same family cemetery plot.

This is all I know:

On the 1880 Census James Furlong, born in Ireland, 47, Teamster, appears with his wife Mary (Donahue), born in Ireland, 41, Keeping House, and their three children, all born in Rhode Island: Thomas A., 25, John, 20, Polisher of Metals, and Margaret, 10. They were living with Samuel Loughlin,57, and his wife Ellen Donahue, 49.

Mary Donahue, wife of James Furlong, and Ellen Donahue, wife of Samuel Loughlin, were sisters.

Can SKS find JAMES FURLONG and MARY DONAHUE in the 1840 through 1900 US Census and identify:

1. The parents/siblings of JAMES FURLONG and MARY DONAHUE

2. Locate the marriage of Mary Donahue and James Furlong ± 1855 in Providence, Rhode Island

3. Locate any information about their children:

THOMAS A. FURLONG: born ± 1855, Providence
JOHN FURLONG: born ± 1860, Providence
MARGARET FURLONG: born ± 1870, Providence

Many thanks!

Bill Dorgan
