Jesse Funston - Margaret Hewitt PA to Ohio 1801
Posted by: Judy N. Mason (ID *****8035) Date: June 27, 2002 at 07:13:18

Jesse Funston was one of the sons of Nicholas Funston the emigrant from Northern Ireland. He was born about 1755 in Northampton County, PA. He served in Revolutionary War in Northampton County. He owned a distillery in Northumberland. He is found in the 1790 and 1800 Census of Northumberland County, PA. I believe this Jesse Funston married Margaret Hewitt, migrated to Ohio, and died there. His four children were raised to adulthood in Ohio.
I believe his children were: Thomas, John, Margaret and Robert. Does anyone have further support for this idea?
Jesse may very well have gone to Ohio with his sister Mary Michael and Elizabeth Smith and families - even though not documented in the Bible. Stephen and Elizabeth are found in Scioto County, Ohio.
