Adrian Daily Telegram, Saturday, January 26, 2008, pg A2 Betty (Powers) Funk Obit MORENCI — Betty Funk, age 76, of Morenci went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Fulton County Health Center, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Morenci, to Floyd L. and Zelma B. (Bachman) Powers. On June 25, 1949, she married Jay Funk in Morenci. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1996. Betty was a lifetime resident of Morenci. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Hudson, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Morenci. She was a proud member of the Republican Party. Betty also served as a board member for many years for the Department on Aging. Betty is survived by her children, Mary (Fowler) Lower of Ocala, Fla., Michael Funk and his wife, Cindy, of Wauseon, Ohio, and Mitchell Funk and his wife, Kelly, of Jonesville, Mich.; one brother, Lyman Powers and his wife, Martha, of Wauseon; 10 grandchildren, Brad, Brian and Brandon Lower, Shawn Ahlgrim, Dan Keezer, Chad and Matt Funk, Ken, Don and Connor Funk; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her special family, Mike and Melanie Shoemaker and family of Morenci; and her dog, Sammy. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Lowell, Lynn, Lyle and Clark Powers; and two sisters, Maxine Hartman and Mary Anne Leffingwell. Funeral services for Betty will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Hudson with Pastor Troy Neujahr officiating. She will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci, next to the love of her life. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation will also be held on Sunday one hour prior to the funeral service at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Hudson.
