Vollenwieder/Fulwider St. Jacobs Stone Church

We moved to Pennsylvania this year. I cannot believe we are within 18 miles of where the Vollenwiders (descendants of Gorius Vollendwider) settled here in York County, PA. We visited the St. Jacobs Stone Church where the baptismal records were kept at one time. It is beautiful, has a big pipe organ in it. We are going to call the pastor this week and ask if we can see the church again soon.

In her book Donna Fulwider Slaughter states that the baptismal records of Jacob, John, Ann-Margaret, Suzanne, George, Henry, Elizabeth, Peter, and Ann Catherine, the children of of Ulrich and Margaret Vollenwider (Fulwider) who came to America thru the port of Philadephia from Switzerland. ( What a run on sentence.) IF I see anything of about the time period of 1750-1800 I will take a picture and email to those interested. I am waiting for warm weather though.

The book Fulwiders in America is a little family history book written by Donna Fulwider Slaughter of South Dakota. It was written in 1976 and is on the shelf at the Crawfordsville Library, Montgomery County, Indiana. It is in the Indiana Room.
