Obit for Maurice Van Rea, wife Lola J. Fultz
The following obit is not someone I am researching.My mother kept clippings and so did her father.I trying to put some of this online in hopes of helping others. I know absolutely nothing about this person.
"Judge" Maurice Van Rea, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. James H. Rea, was born Feb. 29, 1880, in Illinois and departed this life at 2:40 a.m. Jan. 19, 1950.
At about 4 years of age his parents brought the family to Missouri, where he grew into manhood.
On June 16, 1907, he was united in marriage to Lola J. Fultz.To this union were born 10 children.All survive except two, Daisy and James Levi, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Lola, of Stockton, Cal.; eight children, Hosea, Lee, Fred, John and Peggy, also of Stockton; Mrs Al Palmer of Placerville, Cal., Mrs. Lynn Brooks of Fresno, Cal., and Mrs Lloyd Price of Elkland, and two sisters and five brothers.
He professed faith in Christ at the age of 29 and united with the Charity Christian Church, which he attended regularly until moving to California in 1941.
Services were held Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Charity Christian Church with Orville Hodge officiating, assisted by Elmer Davison. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of the L.B. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
