My yesterday’s reply to your GenForum apparently did not work. The following is a second try. I am somewhat concerned regarding the following information in that the names do not always fit very well and parts of the information rely on census records which I never trust. Nevertheless, the following may be of some help. My records show a Samuel C. Fulp born 5 MAY 1858 and died 26 NOV 1926. This would seem to fit your Samuel Clyde Fulp. Samuel C. is buried Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, Forsyth Cnty, NC. I have his spouse listed as Velva (Velna) P. Walker, born 24 FEB 1864 and died 8 FEB 1957. This would seem to fit your Velna Phebie Victory Walker. Velna is also buried at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, Forsyth Cnty, NC. Samuel and Velna were married in November, 1883. Death certificates for both Samuel and Velna are filed in Forsyth County, NC showing Velna’s parents as David Walker and Mary Bodenheimer. Samuel’s death certificate shows parents as Gaston Fulp and Mary Coffer.
Regarding Gaston, the 1860 Forsyth County, NC census shows a Gasper (Gaston) Fulp with son Samuel three (3) years old. Spouse is Eliza M. and second child is Regina, age one (1). The Forsyth 1870 census contains a family headed by “Gaspered Fulp, spouse Mary E. and oldest children the same as the 1860 census, Samuel C., age now thirteen (13) and Regina, aged eleven (11). There were five other what are probably children listed. By 1880, the Forsyth County, NC census list the head of the household as “Gaspered”, age 50 and spouse Elizabeth age 46. Children listed are Regina (Regoiner G.) age 21, Agatha age 18, Susan age 16, John P. age 12 or 13, Neamata A. age 10, Aurelieus G. age 6, Walter J. age 4 and listed last was Samuel C. age 23. Samuel was still in the nest. I have info on several of these children as I am sure you do also.
I believe the parents of Gaston/Gasper/Gaspered are Peter Fulp and Abigal Hester. Peter and Abigal were married in January, 1820 (Stokes County, NC). Peter was born 27 MAY 1798 (from father’s Rev. War pension application). He died in July, 1849 (Mortality Tables 1850 Forsyth County, NC census). Abigal would appear to have been born about 1806. The connection to Gaston/Gasper/Gaspered is a son of Abigal (Peter deceased) listed in the 1850 census named Jasper, age 21. This age fits reasonable well with the Gasper Fulp family Head age (30) in the Forsyth County, NC 1860 census as well as the 1870 and 1880 census ages of 40 and 50.
