Kansas Fulkersons
I have an initial speculation... I'm researching a friend's family. From information given to us by his grandmother, her grandmother (his GGGrandmother) was one Alice FULKERSON b. 15 April 1908 in Bramen, OK.... She has emailed us that Alice's father was named "Emual"--she's not sure how to spell it, and he would've died when she was 10 or younger--and Alice's mother was named "Mae" or May. With this information I have made the supposition that "Emual" may be "Lemuel", which led me to Robert Lemuel FULKERSON who married May TABER they are listed as having had three sons: Robert L., Norman, and Izel....and "4 other daughters" in various sources. When asked about Alice's siblings she replied that Alice had 4 sisters: Gertrude, Izel, Ada, and Eva; and 2 brothers, one named Robert and the other she can't recall. Now is Izel a male or a female? that seems to be the question (...I've known Izel's of both sexes).(It should be noted that while this family has OK connections as evidenced by the above information, that most of it's members even up until very recently have been born in Kansas).
I'm wondering if it isn't reasonable, a least for the moment to pursue a connection with the Robert Lemuel FULKERSON who married May TABER and was the son ofJohn Richard Avis FULKERSON and his wife Nancy SAPPINGTON.
Any thoughts on the above would be greatly appreciated AND PLEASE...remember this is PURELY SPECULATION, I don't want anyone now or in the future to take this as gospel.
Matt
