Sam S. Fullbright or Thomas S. Fullbright - looking for parents

My grandfather was born in 1912 to Sam S. Fullbright (who appears to have left him and his mother). I can't seem to find out who Sam's parents were. In the 1910 census, Sam is living next door to a Thomas S. Fullbright who married Luella and had several children (only one boy named Gordon). Perhaps Thomas is Sam's brother?

Sam S. later appeared in Georgia with a new family. I have his social security death information which lists his birthday as May 13, 1883 (same age as the Sam S. that fathered my grandfather). I can't seem to find any more information that would help me find out who his father was. So we are at a road block.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do now, where to search, what to obtain and such. Anyone have any records of a Sam S in their family trees? Any Thomas S?

Jeff Fulbright (whose name was changed to ONE L by my grandfather's mom).
