Hi Elisabeth,

I've been told that my branch of the Fuhs family originated in Alsace-Lorraine as well, but I believe in 1890's. Could be wrong about the dates, as I never had a passing interest in the family history until recently, and the remaining members that could help out are either dead or I'm unable to track them down. Sad, no?

I do know that the family settled in Philadelphia with roots going back for quite some time. In addition to Fuhs, other branches of the family included the McCanns and the Robinsons.

My grandfather's name was Nicholas A. Fuhs, and I believe he was born in 1912, died in 1994. His sisters were Jean (d. 1979), Katherine (Kit), and Bennie (d. 199? - can't recall her real name).

Hope this helps. :-)
