My mother-in-law was a Schierloh.
Bertha [Barbara] Schierloh [1897-1925]

Her father was John Frederick Schierloh [1870-1928.
He was a jeweler is New York and is buried at the Lutheran Cemetery, Middle Village, Long Island, NY

His father was John C. SHirloh [1837-1901] who came to America. He was born in Bremerhaven, Germany.

John Frederick Schierloh had a son Frewderick Schierloh.

Booking passage coming to America from Bremen were Hermann Arthur Schierloh, Risch Anton Schierloh, Frederich Heinrich Schierloh, John Christopher Schierloh and Eliza Margaretha Schierloh.

John married Catherine Beisner. Eliza never married.
Risch [Anton] was a cigar maker in New York City.

After arriving in New York from Germany, Friederich and Hermann apparently left the New York City area.

It is known [oral tradition[ that one was a sea captain and sailed the CHina Sea, and another was a ship changler on San Francisco Bay, living in Alameda, CA.
