Hi, I've been working on the Fuhrer (Führer or Fuehrer) family name for about 20 years now. I don't belive that there is any connection to Jewish family lines but one never knows. I suspect that the Fuhrer family did immigrate from Switzerland to Germany however. Don't know when but I do know that after the 30 years war, Swiss families did immigrate to Germany. Don't know of any records to that fact however.

As far as Fuhrer, I've been stuck in Worms, South Russia. There were numberous families there all immigrating from Germany but I can't find anything to tell me were! I'm extremely interested in this name as I have two great grandparents from Worms and both named Fuhrer. I have yet to even pin down the fact that they were related.

So, if anyone has anything on the Fuhrer name, I'd appreciate it. One never knows what little tidbit might open up a door.

I'm interested in email exchange with anyone on this topic. dstabler@bigfoot.com
