I am looking for any information on a Sarah Fugit, born abt: 1801 in Russell Co. Virginia and later migrated to Decatur Co. Indiana prob around 1810. Several spellings of Fugit have confused the issue considerably. There are at least 6 different Spellings, Including, Fugate, Fugatte, Fugitte etc. However there is a Twp. in Decatur Co. named for her family, and it is spelled Fugit. Sarah’s parents were either John and Mary Unk. Fugit or Jesse B. and Nancy Fugit. Sarah married a Joseph Webb in 1819 in Franklin Co. Indiana. Joseph was a son of Jonathan and Rachel Ruth Hawkins Webb.. Sarah and Joseph Webb had a son Jonathan born in 1820 in Franklin Co. Indiana. Sarah died in or about 1828, in Franklin Co. Joseph remarried to a Melinda Blount and moved to Lucas Co. Iowa. I would appreciate any information on Sarah Fugit, like verifying her parents, and how and why, for sure that she died so young.
