If it's the same Sharon (and I'm sure it is), I first "met" her when she subscribed to the "Fugate Family Newsletter" back when I first started publishing it.Then her dad sort of took over (my impression) as Sharon became busy with her own family life, and I saw references to William that led me to believe that he was getting Peter's line organized to share.Haven't heard from/about either of them in many years.
I may or may not have more on your line (George?)I note that your list of Fugates in early Bourbon Co. include James, but I assume you know that he was not part of Edward's family.Study of the tax & census records make it clear that James lived in what became Nicholas Co. and there's a good description in the 1810 census of the dividing line between the two districts. This James was a brother of "Capt" Josiah and of Randolph of Wythe Co., who married Sarah Deskin in Washington Co. VA and moved around a lot and fathered a band of rascals, so there are plenty of records, most of which I published.
Be careful in giving too much weight to the name "Martin" found commonly in many Fugate lines, as there are at least two origins of that name among the earliest Fugates:One from Mary, wife of Josias (d.1757) of King George Co. VA, said to be daughter of Francis Martin of that place;the other in Baltimore Co. MD from Edward Fugate, b. 1734, son of James and Ann of St John's Parish, who married Elizabeth Bacon, daughter of Martin Bacon. You can find "Martin Fugate" from that time on in both locations, but I know of no record that ties them together. The name Edward is often found in connection with the name Martin and can usually be traced to the MD/northern VA families, but not the southwestern Fugates. I don't know of an early Edward among the descendants of Josias and Mary.
If there's anything I've said here that you want more info about, let me know. You seem to be one of the careful and thorough researchers taking over the hunt forFugates, so I'll share whatever I can since I'm getting too old (78) to do much work now.
